A victorian silver evening purse repousse decorated with birds and flowers with gilt and copper stainning, verso engraved with \'SHIP LORD DUFFERIN, LAUNCHED 19 MARCH 1896\'. The interior brown leather fittings and silver pencil are still in very good working order.

It\'s hallmarked for Birmingham 1876 with the maker\'s mark for Colen Hewer Cheshire.

A four-masted steel barque built in 1896 by Workman, Clark & Co., Belfast. Dimensions: 86,86×12,80×7,41 meters [285\'0\"×42\'0\"×7\'41\"] and tonnage: 2250 GRT and 2135 NRT.

Rigged with royal sails over double top and topgallant sails.

1896 MayLaunched at the shipyard of Workman, Clark & Co., Belfast, for J. Herron & Co., Liverpool.1896 October 7Left Montevideo for New York in ballast and disappreared on the way.
