Victorian Solid Silver Sugar Tongs William Devenport 1898:
$24.87

A nice, clean pair of sugar nips / tongs made in Birmingham in the year 1898, by the excellent silversmith William Devenport. The maker\'s logo is rubbed but you can clearly see the top of the W and D, along with the other hallmarks, under magnification.Silver pattern: \"Queens pattern\".
Lengths: 9cm. Weight: approximately 14.8g.There are no major scratches, just a very slight wave in the shape of one of the finials. Please see photos, which I lightened up to make the shape as clear as possible. The two spoon parts meet up almost perfectly, making these fully functional tongs that would look beautiful in any silver or porcelain sugar bowl. As the pattern is the classic Queen\'s pattern, it would not be difficult to match these tongs up with silver teaspoons and other cutlery of the same era. Please feel free to make an offer. All reasonable offers are considered.
