Huge Antique Solid Sterling Silver Rare Pocket Watch Eagle Fob Medal Pendant 1898

This one is an attractive rare antique 19th century huge and heavy solid sterling silver heavy pocket watch Fob, pendant or medal. On the front of the silver fob there is a raised empty 9ct rose gold shield cartouche and a raised ribbon border. What is special about this fob is the finely detailed raised 3D eagle to the top.

This big interesting fob has a great solid feel to it too.

Fully hallmarked for sterling silver for the city of Birmingham, for the year 1898 - thus guaranteeing the exact age and pedigree of this lovely piece. The Maker’s mark is also present: J.A.

No inscriptions.

Weighs in at a very impressive 17.3 grams approx.

Measurements: 2 inches high by 1 ¾ inches wide approx at widest point.

Condition: In good condition for its ripe age with a pleasant tactile solidity that has only been enhanced by its rich velvety patina, alongside the touch of age that just can’t help but add a little more personality and charm to this delightful fob. A few light surface scratches and a bit of general wear you would expect on a treasure of this ripe age. The gold on the middle of the cartouche has lifted slightly.
