Antique Five Piece Sterling Silver Vanity Set

The hallmark on these pieces is a unicorn with an M on the flank. This is the hallmark of Mauser Manufacturing, New York City. They were producing silver items from 1887-1903. All pieces are marked - Sterling, 925 Fine, the unicorn and patent no. 15000.
The brushbristlesare dirty and some are split or worn off. The silver work has numerous tiny dents around the edge on all the pieces. There are many superficial scratches.
The mirror holder is original. The mirror itself is probably a replacement. It has all the silvering, but the material holding it in place in the silver frame has been removed as you can see.
The glass jar with silver lid is free of any cracks or chips.

This is a beautiful set. Looks like it was well-used for the purpose intended. In its present condition it is still a wonderful collectible and worth its weight in sterling.
