Victorian White Cotton Coutil Stitching Lace Trim S Bend Hourglass Corset

This antique Victorian era white cotton coutil stitching lace trim S bend hourglass corset dates from 1878. It is made of an off white cotton coutil fabric, with decorative chain stitch embroidery work accents and needle lace trim edging around the top. This lovely ladies lingerie hourglass S bend corset has a transitional style, with a slightly curved busk, steel hook front, original corset string lacing closure back and boned stays sewn inside. It is stamped inside \"Patented January 23, 30, 1877 April 2, 1978\" and a size 34. The corset measures 13 inches long, with a 34 inch waist and 36 inch bust which are adjustable by letting out the corset string lacing to be made larger. It is in as-is fair condition, with some wear, fraying, staining, small repairs and a broken steel busk front (see close-up). This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of wearable antique Victoriana lingerie art!
