A fine example of an old mid-19th century c. 1840\'s -1860\'s glass button called a (radiant) reflector by collectors. A molded button with four large facets on the top of the button; surrounded by a beaded border. The back is smooth with a base of beautiful blue glass. There is lavish use of goldstone swirling atop the blue glass. The thin brass slightly elongated wire shank is swirled into the base creating what is known as a \'swirl-back\' button. There is a raised line on the reverse where from the scissors mold in which it was made. The button measures 1/2 inch in diameter. In excellent condition. The button has not been cleaned.
