This doll was made around the year 1924 by the Messina Vat Company in Torino Italy the same town the Lenci dolls were made. She is a mint doll, absolutelyno holes stains except for a little stainonher socknosmells. She is fully jointed with a beautiful pressed molded face( not a spot on it).and wool felt body hands and legs (her legs and arms have a little bend in the elbow and knee and rosy appearance that give her a darling look when standing), hands with fingers sewn together with thumbs separate. Her facial features are finely painted; dark brown eyes with black pupils, light brown dash, white dot and white line to create gorgeous highlights, short brown eyelashes, brown brows, red dotted nostrils, rosy cheeks, and red mouth that has a lighter red lower lip. Just stunning!!! Her outfit is a dark turquoise wool feltcap sleevedress with dark pink wool felt lines sewn vertically all around the skirt and around the hem at thecuffs and bottom adorned with dark pink wool felt flowers with green wool felt stem on the bodice, a organdy rose pink under-dress with long sleeves that has ruffles at the cuffs and the collar with little fine stitches at the edges. She has cute cotton ivory short undergarmentwith pretty ivory cotton lace,ivory fancy knit sock that are sewn inthe back little brown stain on one. She wears dark turquoise wool felt Mary Jane shoes with straps secured with little white buttons. Her darling hair is medium blonde mohair that is styled in very full tight ringlet curls adorned with a big dark turquoise wool felt bow .This company made dolls that were just as wonderful as the Lenci dollcompany, but did not do all the advertising in the U.S.as the Lenci dollscompany did, so these dolls are quite much harder to find. She is a real treasure. Included is a wonderful book cloth dolls Identification and price guide 1920\'0 and 1930\'s by Polly Judd published1990. It has 256 pages ,all about the cloth dolls and how they were made .Her picture is on page 219 ,my mother wanted the book to go with this special doll. Therealso is a colored copy of her included and a hand written information about the companyThis doll is dressed different. She is such a treasure!! She was one of my mothers special dolls.
