This lamp was once in my grandmothers living room on a cherrywood table next to the old wine horsehair filled sofa. It has been cleaned often and a lot of the wine and some gold has come off over the years. The center medallion features an 18th century dancing couple. This lamp was rewired by my grandfather; (fix anything instead of buying new) and the new cord would not go through the tiny hole at the back. So, it does not sit completely flat. I have used this lamp in my home for over 26 years so I know it is at least 70 - 80 years old.This lampstands 16 3/8\" tall to the top of the fixture. It works perfectly.
