This listing is for a Vintage WWI Germany IRON CROSS Medal on a ribbon.
This item was recently purchased from an estate.
I believe this is a \'Second Class\' Iron Cross, though I am not an expert in military items, so please SEE IMAGES and ask any questions you have and I will do what I can to answer them.
We are also listing other military estate items today, so be sure to look at the other items that I have listed.
SPECIFICATIONS:
This is a USED/PRE-OWNED Item -See Below for Condition Report.
Material: Iron, Silver edge, Ribbon etc.
Signed: One side of the cross has \'(crown) W 1914\' on it, the other side has \'(Crown) FW 1813 -see images.
The Ring that attaches the medal to the ribbon also has a hallmark on it -see images.
Dimensions: This item measures about 5 1/2\" long from the very top of the ribbon to the bottom of the cross.
JUST the cross measures about 1 11/16\" x 1 11/16\" at the largest points.
Weight: 16.3 grams TOTAL
Condition:
This item is in vintage condition with signs of age/wear and use.

The ribbon has several tears, rips, holes, etc. -see images
the ribbon is stained, spotted, frayed and shows signs of age/wear. -please see images.
The cross has patina and tarnish on the silver areas -and this cross also has some dings, dimples, wear and imperfections in some areas -please see images.
The metal has some scratches, scuffs, wear and signs of age.
I can locate no rust, though there are scratches, imperfections etc.
All in all, I would have to say that this item is in vintage condition with signs of age/wear and use.
