I am selling a vintage pre-owned 1919 World War I remembrance handkerchief. Cotton lace around the edges, interior feels silky but may be a fine weave of cotton. There is an oval of Flags embroidered in one corner with the date 1919. I assume the Flags are our allies from WWI. The patch is starting to tear away on the right side. Measures about 10” square.
There was a handwritten note on this hanky designating that it was a WWI remembrance hanky but when it was washed and ironed, it washed off. I have another one from WWII in my store at this time.
