VINTAGE LOT OF THREE DENNISON BLACK CAT SILHOUETTE DIE CUTS WITH ORANGE EYES AND BACKS

DESCRIPTION: These are just great to purchase now and put away for next year! Marked Dennison, U.S.A in tiny print on the back, black die cut cat with irregular edges, arched-back, tail straight-up, pale (not bright) orange eyes and mouth, and back side of cut-out is same orange color (cut from cardstock that is black on one side and orange on the verso. Cat measures approximately 11-3/4" diagonally from the edge of the face up to the top of the tail. From the top of the arched back down to the longest leg is 11" approximately. The cats are scared and are trying to scare you! I believe these are from the 1920s, maybe a bit later. The person from whom I purchased the catssaid they were originally in a Dennison cardboard box w/label from 1920s. My photos may make the tangerine color of face and back look rather yellow, but the color is definitely an orange hue. All cats are the same size, all tails, the same length, etc., even though my photos don't always show that.

CONDITION: These were used and show some pin holes/bit of damage to1 cat's top edge: 1 cat has 2 pin holes to top center of arched back; 1 cat has5 pin holes to same center top area; 1 has 3 pin holes and a narrow V-shaped bit missing at center top. 1 cat has a crease across the bottom of the tail and a crease across one front leg, 1 has a crease across 1 front leg and a small crease to edge of face and to tip of tail, 1 has no leg or tail creases (this is the one with the V-shaped bit missing at top center). All 3 have some random edge rubs and all 3 have a thumbmark/crease near the top by the pin holes. Light soiling (couple of small spots/smudges to back) and a bit of scuffing.

Note: I tend to over-describe vintage paper items and make them sound much worse than they actually are. Although these were used, there is no evidence that tape was ever employed to display them, which is so common with old Halloween decorations and, the older the die cut, the more layers of tape are typically found, along with lifting when someone tried to remove the tape--no such tape issues with these cuties. From a distance these cats look great; up close or under a bright light, one can see the flaws I have mentioned.
