This is Vintage \"The Clark Heater\", No. 7C Carriage / Buggy Heater / Foot Warmer, made in USA.

We are not knowledgeable in this area. The information I was given is that this warmer is circa 1920s, so if that is correct, while it is presently vintage, it is getting close to being considered antique.

The information on the plaque containing the handle reads: \"THE CLARK HEATER NO. 7C\". The information below the knob of the removeable fuel tray reads: \"MADE BY CHICAGO FLEXIBLE SHAFT CO.\".

The body of the heater is steel, possibly stainless or nickel plated. The body is covered with carpeting that I assume facilitated warming one\'s stockinged feet with shoes or boots removed. The warmer is 13 3/4\" long x 5\" tall at the back tapering to about 2\" high at the front. The warmer is quite heavy; it weighs 6 1/4 pounds. There is a removeable tray to hold the fuel for warming. I do not know specifically what type of fuel or fuels could be used for heating in this warmer. On the opposite end is an adjustablevent to regulate the amount of heat release by the burner.

Condition:

The plating or stainless finish on the steel ends has some area of moderate to heavy compromise of the finish with some attendant light rust. The end of the fuel tray and the surround metal has very substantial compromise of the finish from the hot fuel. The fuel tray can be removed and replaced with ease, but when removed, you can see that it sits a bit skewed. The adjustable vent is in good working order. The carpeting shows some wear, but it is overall in very good condition.
