VINTAGE BSA Boy Scout STERLING Eagle Scout Medal with GREEN CoffinStyle case & Eagle Scout Patch.

Up for sale is a RobbinsType 3 Eagle Scout Medal and presentation case with an Eagle Scout Patch.

This Type Medal was awarded1933-1954.

This Medal is the STERLING SILVER version. The word“STERLING” is not on the back of the Eagle, but it is on the back of thescroll. It can be seen the last picture.

The tufted ribbon, as wellas the GREEN case, dates this as anearly version Robbins 3.

The Medal is STERLING and is in excellent condition with a nice patina.

The Medal is in excellent condition, and the ribbon, although somewhatdarkened from use and age, is still in unusually nice condition consideringthat it’s about 75 years old. The ribbonis strong and doesn’t show any wear other than the darkened color.

The Eagle Patch was originally rectangular, but the Scout cut it to ovalas was a fairly common practice. Other than being oval it is in very good condition.

TheGREEN coffin style case is very rare. Thereis some wear and the cover doesn’t “snap” shut, but overall it is in very nicecondition, considering its age. The 1930’s and 40’s cases were usually black, soto some collectors, the green case may be worth more than the Eagle Medal itself.
