You are looking at avery nice cosmeticcondition Turner 22X model microphone from the 1940\'s. This heavily deco styled piece with satin chrome finish makes this one of the most widely recognized microphones ever produced. The 22 series came inseveral different styles over the years with the only changes coming in the lower half that carried the Turner badge and the type of element used. The 22 microphone either had the crystal element or the Dynamic element. All 22D\'s carried the Dynamic element which was a great improvement in sound quality. This one utilizes the crystal element and has a weaker, distant sound to it.
This unit hasthe early lower half with curved front and rear along with black Turner badge.Yes, the mic works...just not verywell. The true beauty in this 22X is the overall finish which i would give a conservative7 on a scale of 1 - 10. There are a few minor scratches and just the smallest amount of corrosion. This would make a fine display in any collection of vintage early microphones. A true piece of Americana and a conversation piece anywhere it sits.
The theading for the cable and mic stand are perfect. no issues. Solid inside and out this mic was built to last.
