Up for sale is a great piece of vintage chalkware American: a saluting sailor. The figure wears a pale-blue uniform with a bandana tied around his neck that is decorated with glitter. He has a white cap on his head. The sailor measures 14 1/4\" tall x 6 1/2\" wide x 3 1/4\" deep. It is in excellent condition, though it does have flaws.
The first flaws are three small chips on the front of the brim of the figure\'s cap. There\'s an imperfection on the sailor\'s right elbow, but I think it\'s original to the piece. It also looks as though there\'s a chip on the right side of the base, but again, I think it\'s an imperfection from the original casting. There\'s a small chip on the right side of the bandanna tie and a number of tiny flea bites on all sides of the figure. For a better idea, please take a look at the pictures. In the end, these small flaws do not take away from just how amazing this piece truly is.
