As pictured....Fresh out of a local upstate New York estate comes this vintage Singer 221 Featherweight serial number AF936987. According to official Singer records, this machine was produced in May of 1941. I believe this to be a one family machine. It appears to have been only very lightly used and is pretty much in near pristine condition. The black finish is still glossy with virtually no loss showing only trace light scratches mentioned for accuracy. All the gold trim is nearly all intact with only a smidge of fading on the front side. The scrolled end plate is in beautiful condition with no loss or fading. There is absolutely no corrosion or oxidation anywhere on this machine. The machine appears to be all original with no replacement parts. The motor and pedal are both the original Simanco. The last service perfromed was in 2013 as per receipt found with the machine. I tested it myself and it\'s a smooth and quiet hummer,ready to roll.Only thing to note is the light was not working; most likely because it will need a new bulb. Everything you see pictured comes with the machine including all of the attachments. The case is in great shape; clean inside and out with no odor and the leather handle is intact holding strong. The original keys are also included.
This is a classic machine coveted by quilters for their consistent, reliable performance with straight stitches forward & back. This machine if taken care of as it was up until now, will last a lifetime. You won\'t find a much cleaner example than this.
