The year of production is based on the year found on the rule guide. This is a nice set, with weighted and felt-bottomed playing pieces. This is a vintage item and there is some wear...all box corners have been re-taped, a couple of the pawns rattle when shaken and there is discoloration throughout but there is no wear here that prevents further play and, in the case of the playing pieces, even display.
