Description
A stunning strapless original 1950’s wedding gown in a confection of white ruched tulle and gold ribbon trim. What a statement this gown would make at the approaching prom season. It is certainly also lovely enough to be worn as a wedding gown. No maker\'s label but the hang tags read \"Perfect Junior Formal Ltd : Toronto\". No fabric contents label but this is likely a synthetic blend.
Note the details on this stunning gown – strapless (boned) taffeta bodice with ruched tulle overlay, triple layer tulle ruffle at the bustline trimmed in gold wire ribbon, piped waistband, and the very full layered tulle skirt with the same metallic accent. There are actually three layers to this skirt – an underlayer of ivory satin acetate, a middle single layer of white tulle to give the skirt extra body, topped with a layer of white layered tulle.
The dress comes with a lovely matching bolero shrug or shawl.
This dress closes down the side with a hidden metal zipper and fasteners. The entire dress is lined in ivory satin acetate. The dress is photographed using a crinoline to show the skirt to full advantage – the crinoline is not included.
No vintage size label, so please see measurements below for a proper fit. This is a small size that would likely best fit a modern size 2 or 4.

Condition
This dress is in excellent vintage condition. No stains and underarms are clean. I found no obvious tears in the outer tulle of the skirt. A few minor mentions – two tiny repairs to the tulle ruffle at the neckline, which are partially hidden in the fabric folds and inconspicuous. There is also a small repair to the tulle shrug.
It should be noted that this dress had at some stage been altered to accommodate a very petite frame. The bodice side seams had been taken in and the zipper moved. It has since been restored to its original size. On close inspection the original stitch perforations are visible. No significant exterior defects to note.

Returns
All items are sold as final sales, unless a significant flaw has inadvertently not been disclosed. I do my best to accurately describe every item and any significant flaws will be mentioned in the description. Of course it is possible to overlook something and if this occurs, please contact me as soon as possible and I will do my best to resolve the issue. I cannot accept returns for items that do not fit – measurements are taken carefully so please ensure that these match your own before offerding.
Please keep in mind that vintage items are not new, and as such are rarely in perfect condition. Unless otherwise stated, all items have been worn and show some degree of wear. Small imperfections are inherent in vintage garments and add character to the pieces.

Shipping
Unless otherwise requested, all Canadian and US shipments will be shipped expedited parcel via Canada Post, with tracking and insurance. I do not charge handling fees so all prices reflect actual mailing costs.
International buyers are welcome. International shipments will be priced on an individual basis and generally will be higher. If you would like an international shipping quote before purchasing, please send me an email. Insurance is recommended on international shipments, as I cannot be responsible for loss or damaged parcels if insurance is not purchased.
