Gorham silver was founded in Providence, Rhode Island in the year of 1831 by J.Gorham. During the heyday of American silver manufacturing, approximately 1850-1950, Gorham was highly influential. Some tea service was presented to the National Museum of American History.In 1905 the firm opened a show and sales office on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
