DESCRIPTION:
Very finely woven Navajo rug / blanket.
From the same estate as the rug assumed to be woven by Mabel Burnsides Meyers, but we do not know if this rug are by Burnsides Meyers. They could from earlier trips made by the original owner of the estate.

Frank Shilling Cummings created the film, Making A Navajo Rug, in 1960 tracing the creation of a Navajo rug from wool collecting to dying and weaving, the whole process from start to finish. The rug made in his film was donated to the Denver Museum along with the original film. The weaver was Mabel Burnsides Meyers. We are listing eight exquisite rugs from the same estate of Frank S. Cummings. All of which have been professionally appraised.
As dealers since the late 1990s, some the rugs from this collection (all listed separately) are among the finest we have ever laid eyes on. See our other sales.
For this fourth rug, we are including the appraisal report on vintage color film documenting Navajo life and culture, which was donated to the Denver Museum by the Cummings estate and the 1950 film \"Weaving #1, #2 and #3\".

CONDITION:
Excellent, all original condition. No damage and no significant wear. No restorations.
No rips, tears, holes, frays, broken stitching or loose binding.
Generally very clean as found.
No stains, no heavy soiling, no dust, or discoloration.
This rug has several small areas of light soiling on one side. Nothing at all conspicuous. See photos.
No cigarette, pet, musty or other unpleasant odors.
No fading or dull colors.
Appears to have always been handled gently and stored properly.
No signs of abuse.
This rug is impressive in quality.
Displays beautifully.
