Up for offer is a 1950s JC Higgins Enos Slaughter Baseball Glove. Condition is very good+. Leather feels good, soft, supple, and very smooth. Still has a good shine and the color is a reddish-brown (slightly faded on the front). There are no holes or rips. Leather lacing in the fingers is original, the web lacing looks to have been replaced. No breaks in the lacing. Leather liner is still soft, has some surface wear around the palm and heel. Still is its original cream/beige color. Lay in type, no rips or holes. Easy to get on your hand. Piping is a synthetic, it shows wear and cracking, and a separation on the wrist strap. It is all there though. Stamps are visible still have a good impression and silver left in them. JC Higgins logo and model number 1623 on the heel. Enos Slaughter signature endorsement along the pinkie. Wrist strap is good, stitched on tight, single hole attachment. Metal button is intact. Medium size glove, probably a large youth size or adolescent. Measures 8 3/4\" H x 9 1/4\" W. Nice display piece. Comes from a large collection, letting go of a lot of stuff i do not have room for anymore. I will be listing a lot more vintage baseball items. Any questions email me. Wood stand not included.
