You are looking at a somewhat rare 1950\'s era model MS-25 \"Professional\" Atlas floor stand that has a cast iron 15 inch wide base, two piece retractable chrome stemMade in Brooklyn, NY complete with an Atlas \"boom arm\" and used specifically for the MS-25 floor stand. This standhas very lite wear and I would rate this stand physically an easy 7 on a scale of 1 - 10.

This was the first generation MS-25 and was an entirely new model replacing the earlier MS-24 in the early 1950\'s.

Why buy new when everything new depreciates in value? You can buy a nice older one built like a tank and watch your stand only go up in value. It makes sense really.

This extra heavy duty floor stand was one of Atlas\'s most expensive. It was designed for professional applications revolving around any type of circumstances one can think of.

The original chromeon the lower stems of the stand shows very lite wear as seen in the pics provided. Also, there are no dings on the chrome base cover...just several smaller scratches. Both the upper and lower riser look nice. Thechrome clutch locking mechanismholds the two stems in place nicelyandallows for easy up and down movement when loosened and has a built in air brake. Stand is adjustable from 41 incheslow to 70 inches tall. Tall enough for any user. With the boom arm you can get an extra 5 feet of height either upwards or out towards the side of the stand and with the extremely heavy cast iron base and counterweight it\'s no problem at all.

The 3 original metal adjustable height pads are still present on the bottom of the base and in great condition. They are extra smooth keeping this from scratching any surface it\'s used on. These stands are almost always missing these screw on pads. The cast iron basehas original paint with lite signs of chips, scratches or corrosion. The cast iron base is extra wide and extra heavy weighing 20 pounds. Twice as heavy as the standard models. Total weight of the stand is 23 pounds. With the boom arm it\'s about another 6 pounds.

This stand is ideal for those extra heavy vintage microphones that you don\'t want getting knocked over and broken. Your RCA ribbon or Shure 55 \"Fatboy\" would look great on this MS-25. These MS-25 stands go back to the late 1950\'s and nothing really changed on them over the years except for the pads on the bottom and the sticker used on the chrome stem...otherwise, they have kept the same overall design.

The chrome on the boom arm itself in decent condition with just very lite scratches from the cable clips that were used on it over the decades and it comes with it\'s two original cable clips. The cast iron counter weight is in good shape as well and tightly secured. The end of the boom arm has the Atlas swivel with 5/8 X 27 thread for use with all American screw on style microphones. There are zero issue with the joint mechanism and works perfectly. The knob tightens securely on the top and bottom and you can get any degree of tilt to this boom arm needed. Clutch tightens nicely and easily.

Not too shabbyfor a 60+ years old stand and it will certainly steal attention anywhere it\'s used in the home, office or studio. If you demand rare, durable and exceptional...look no further.
