Vintage 1954 Model 99K Singer Sewing Machine & 1951 Singer \"Cadet\" Walnut Cabinet

My brother purchased this machine for me from the original owner at an Upstate NY garage sale 6 years ago and didn’t ask the seller whether it was in working condition. I never tested it because I live in an apartment building and don\'t have the landlord’s permission…I don’t want to blow a fuse. The intact rubber belt, threaded bobbin and needle give me the strong impression that it does work.

A beautiful little machine…Great for quilting! Compact and strong, the 99K is a smaller version of Singer\'s 66 models. This model is belt-driven, and uses the drop-in 66-class bobbins. Needles, belts and bobbins are available in any sewing store. This nice, roomy work table with drop-leaf closes up into a decorative corner table. The machine folds down into the cabinet and the drop-leaf panel folds over the machine for storage. The electrical cord wraps around two metal hooks on the left of the inside cabinet and the foot petal slides up into a storage slot and locks in place. To remove, tip forward from the top to unlock then push to slide down.Overall cabinet dimensions: 23\" wide closed [w/open leaf = 46 ½\" wide] x 16 ½\" deep x 31\" tall

- The black finish is in excellent condition, with gold decals intact and bright. No chips or damage. The chrome parts are clean, shiny and unpitted.
- Purchased Upstate NY 5 years ago and never tested it because I live in an apartment building and don\'t want to blow a fuse. It currently serves as a table for another vintage 1970s Singer, which I use often.
- I brushed out all the parts and oiled the machine a few months back. I was meaning to test it but have not been able to get landlord\'s permission to plug it in.
- Appears to be in excellent condition -- I have a feeling it works because the machine has an in-tact rubber belt, a needle and threaded bobbin in place.Cabinet Description & Condition:
- 1951 Singer \"Cadet\" walnut cabinet in sturdy overall condition
- Top panels & legs are solid wood; side panels and back are solid wood with laminate facing.
- Shows surface mars throughout -- Please refer to photos.
- Top finish is crazed from age. The wood is marred and could use a sanding and refinishing.
- The left side of the cabinet is perfectly beautiful but there is damage along the right side, with surface laminate chipping -- Can be chiseled out evenly and replaced with a thin wood laminate panel.
- There is a side bracket missing that prevents the center drawer from tipping forward when open
- Cabinet has been placed on wheeled brass casters for easy moving -- Casters were never glued & nailed in place and can fall off when gliding across floor, so please take note.Note: I have the links to the User Manuals, which I will make available to the buyer via email.
