This is a hand woven bag from Kenya, Africa. Githumu, Kenya Colony to be exact by someone named “Wahu” I believe, (hard to read the hand writing) in 1961. There is a piece of paper in the bag which states this. (provenance in other words) The bag measures approximately 11” long, 7” tall and about 1/4” wide. It is basically a hand bag that goes inside of a larger bag I guess. It is mainly tan, red and green in color and very, very nice work. I don\'t know to much of it\'s history except the lady who owned it previously is the same lady who had the Wildebeest and Waterbuck horns I have listed. I also have baskets and trivets listed from the same lady and those too are from the same area and time. I don\'t know if they were woven by the same person or in the same village though. She did not share that with me. All pieces seem to be in good condition as far as I can tell.
