Stamped on the back of the plate Sterling Silver and even says it on the inside of the box.

Added 2 more pics because I did not look at all the info that came with the certificate. There is a letter dated from 1972 from the VP of the Franklin Mint. Beautiful piece of history to add to your collection.I noticed a slight musty smell from being in storage all these years.
