Vintage African or Polynesian attern Dashiki Shirt w/ Pockets

This shirt is over 30 years old, according to my Aunt, who gave it to us; was worn once by my Uncle in a Live Last Supper Celebration one Easter. Despite its age, it is still inamazing condition. It\'s loose and easy to wear, making it a perfect summer shirt. Unfortunately the tag is missing so we can\'t give a brand or country of manufacture. It looks African to me, but my Aunt was convinced it was Hawaiian, so maybe you can help me out on its origin, if you recognize the pattern.
