Sweet little derby or bowler hat is made from molded, very finely-woven straw that has a subtle sheen. Surprising detail is that this has TWO nesting brims! (See least photo). Why two? I\'m guessing it\'s simply to give the brim a bit more presence as well as create a nice finishing touch to the hat. Both brims are trimmed in black velvet. An nice ivory satin rose and bud with realistic stems and green leaves highlight the left side of the hat.

Inner circumference 21 1/2\"; diameter 10\" Sits easily upon my 22 1/2\" head with no assistance.

Label: Original Bernclaire New York 22 (I saw reference to this milliner in newspapers from the early 1950s, mentioned with G Howard Hodge, Frank Palma, and Dajon. That\'s good company!)

Condition is very good to excellent. No stains, no odors. Hat is in fresh condition with little signs of wear. Rose has just lightly visibleglue residue - very common in these.
