Vintage 70s Hopi 16\" Cold Bringing Woman Kachina Doll Tom Collateta Made in USA

For your consideration is this fabulous hand carved Cold Bringing Woman (Horo Mana or Yohozro Wuhti) Kachina doll by Hopi master carver Tom Collateta, circa 1970s.

This gorgeous kachina doll was hand carved out of top grade cottonwood and hand painted with dyes made from natural materials off the reservation. This particular doll is fully carved and then dressed in pile-lined fabric with a deerskin cape. She wears a white handwoven sash. Measures approx 16\" tall. Hallmarked. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

** Cold Bringing Woman appears on First Mesa during the Powamuya. She carries bundles of reeds which are used as traditional combs in her hand to muss up peoples\' hair when she appears with Nuvak\'chin, her grandson. As her name implies, she brings the whiteness of winter. **
