A LITTLE HISTORY

These C6 Candoliers can be used in the window, on the mantle, etc. Originally they were meant to be window candles with C6 cone shaped bulbs in them. Now collectors like to use them to display their bubble lights, plastic and glass figural lights, and many other kinds of collectible lights with the C6 base. I do this with some of my lights.

Some early C6 candoliers were produced by Noma, Propp and Royal.

DESCRIPTION

Here is a vintage durable 8 lightC-6Christmas Candolier with ribbed cone flame GE bulbs, and with a plastic base and cardboard candles. The center of the base has a poinsettia with holly leaves and berries on both sides.

This candolier is in Very Good Working Condition. The base is an off white or cream color. The ivory colored cardboard candles sit on 4 different tiers for a nice effect. The bases of some candles have some damage, and there is also old glue residue, which turned a yellowish color on the base of some candles and also on the base around the candles. There is no cord damage. (Cord marks occurred when the cord was wrapped around the candolier. If the candolier was stored in a warm place like an attic, there would be reaction where the plastic cord touched the candolier. The cord would then stick to the candolier. When the cord was pulled of the candolier an indentation would remain on the candolier. This is a cord mark.) In order to make the candolier have a better surface the cord marks would be sanded down, but not all can be removed completely. There are no loose, cracked or broken sockets. The bulb sockets have brass inserts. The General Electric (G-E)C6Ribbed Cone Bulbs have a gold base, and have slight paint loss. Four spares are included. The original Plastic covered cord is soft and flexible. There is No \"UL\" tag on the cord. The base has a cardboard cover on the bottom.

The candolier operates in series, which means when one bulb burns out or comes loose, they all go out. If you use a dimmer device with this set, you can preserve the bulbs a lot longer. You should be careful not to try to turn the bulb in too tightly into the socket. This could damage the center piece in the socket, requiring a tedious repair job. If a light does not work in it, the tip is probably not long enough to touch the center contact in the socket. Try a different light. Some shanks on bubble and other lights are either worn or just not long enough.

The candolier measures 19-1/2\" long, 10-5/8\" to the tip of the highest bulb, and 2-1/2\" deep.

There is nobox.

Weight is 14.5 ounces, before packaging for shipment.
