Here’s a RARE find: an entire vintage Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer cake and mold set, complete with the original box! This is the unique original Bake King set by the Chicago Metallic Mfg. Co., c. 1950’s. A Christmas classic!

This is the COMPLETE 8-piece set. It comprises 2 pans for an approximately 9-inch diameter 2-layer cake and 6 small 4-inch diameter pans for small cakes or gelatin molds! And the set comes with its original box INTACT!/p>

One of the two big pans is for the top layer and thus has an impression with the figure of the famous reindeer which will stand out in 3D when the cake is unmolded; the other pan, for the bottom layer, is of course plain. All six of the little pans have the impressed reindeer figure. (The lettering “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeeer” isn’t part of the cake design; only the reindeer figure will be raised when the cakes are unmolded.).

Although the box is somewhat discolored in a couple of places, it’s in very good shape overall. On the back of the box are recipes for a cake and frosting (or you can use your own favorites); and there are suggestions for how to do decorate.

The set was packed away by my late mother-in-law, who was a great baker, but it looks as if it were never used. As to be expected with tin-plated bakeware that is now about 60 years old, the tin plating (which is actually pretty thin) has reacted to moisture and turned black in places. Some pans have more black areas than others, but all are perfectly usable and will produce charming cakes.

The set comes from a smoke-free and pet-free Environment, and we’ll be sure to pack it well so that it gets to you safely.
