This particular example is stamped \'made in England\' which is by far the most desirable, as later they were \'made in Britain\' and \'made in Great Britain\'. This brand has almost doubled in price in the last 3 years and will continue to increase in value as they are bought up by collectors and their availability decreases.
The solid 9ct gold case which is externally hallmarked is in very nice condition for its age with very little making or scratches. The beautiful dial is also in fantastic condition. The markings on the dial are still very strong, however the dial does show some signs of age. The mechanical movement keeps good time and has a good length of power. The watch has been fitted with a brand new strap. The watch was presented to an employee of British Rail. 2 Very important British companies!
Overall the watch is very nice and extremely collectable.
