This listing is for a Beautiful 800 solid Silver BELT BUCKLE That has an EDELWEISS FLOWER Design on it, and there are also Ladybug details in some areas as well -see images.

The Edelweiss Flower is a Very symbolic Flower, most often associated with the Alps/mountains etc.
The Edelweiss Flower Grows in high mountain areas -that are relatively inaccessible.
The Edelweiss flower has long been a symbol of True Love.
Often a man would attempt to locate and pick an Edelweiss flower for his sweetheart, -as the difficulty in obtaining the flower proved his love and devotion, as well as strength and ability.
This belt buckle has Austro Hungarian Hallmarks on it, and I would date this item to the early 1900\'s.

This item was recently purchased from an estate.

Signed: This item has hallmarks on the side....see images.
There are makers marks as well as the Austro-Hungarian hallmark of a Dog head which was used on small 800 silver items. -please see images.

Dimensions: This item (when joined together) measures about 5\" long at the very largest points, and about 1 15/16\" or so wide at the largest points.The back has slots (one on each section) where you can attach a thin belt/ribbon. The slot is about 1 13/16\" or so long (inside length dimension). -it is very \'shallow\' -likely best for a thin fabric or \'ribbon\' belt.

Condition:
This item is in decent estate condition with some signs of age/wear and use.
Please see images to get a closer look at this items condition.The silver has no large dents/major scratches that I can find, -though there are some small scratches/tiny dings, dimples, wear and imperfections on the silver in some areas -as you expect to find on estate silver items -though not very large/deep or objectionable -see images.
there is a wire on the back in the center of one section -this appears to be how it was made originally? -see images.

The silver has patina, tarnish and discoloration in some areas, and could use a cleaning/touch up polish in some areas (if desired).

All in all, I would have to say that this item is in decent estate condition, showing some signs of age/wear and use.
