Vintage African Hand Carved 1 Piece All Wood Walking Stick Cane Head:

This is a hand carved, (possibly in Kenya) unusual and unique custom all wood 1 piece walking stick/cane. The walking stick/cane has a carved head above a kneeling figureat the top with a metal necklace beneath the headand a nice spiral groove all the way down to the bottom. The cane which only uses the carvedfigure for a handle is all one piece and is very unique.

Overall cane is ingood condition.It has chipped at the base from being used on hard surfaces. I don\'t know the age of the cane. It belonged to my step-grandfather who died in 1977.

The shaft is amedium brown wood and is finished, smooth. The cane is 37\" in length. The figure measures 1 1/2\" across at its widest. The shaftis 1-1/8\" diameter at the top and tapers much toward the end. The cane is not excessively heavy but the wood is dense andhas a good weighty feel. The carved head atop thecane fits the hand very nicely and supplies a very nice gripping design and surface.
This is a very unique cane with very unique carving anda nicefinish.
