Up for sale is a Kachina by Arizona artist Albert Poleeson of the Hopi tribe. I feel that it is worthy of being in a place of prominence such as a great collectors possession or a museum. It was done in the 20th century probably in Arizona where he is known to have worked. It is handcarved of cottonwood root. It is painted in muted shades of colors. The artisdt appeared to have paid a lot of attention to detail and the is a lot going on. At the top of his head are probably quail feathers. On his back from the waist down is a beaver pellet. I don\'t know the symbolism there but I.m sure all of the elements in this \"Bears\'s\" existence tell a great story. If anyone knows help would be appreciated. The Kachina stands 16 3/4 \" tall overall.
