Up for sale very rare antique old silver sterling 925 Etrog Sukkot hinged lid box made by Aliatz Silver Company of Israel. It is beautifully decorated, stands on four legs and gold plated on the inside. Set on four stylized supports.

Length: 15 cm (6.0 in)

Width: 11 cm (4.3 in)

Height: 10.5 cm (4.1 in)

Weight: 332 gram

Condition: minor dents and scratches. Very good condition to its age.

Etrog refers to the yellow citron or Citrus medica used by Jewish people on the week-long holiday of Sukkot, as one of the Four species. Together with a Lulav, Hadass and Aravah, the Etrog is to be taken in each Jewish hand.

The phrase used by the Torah to describe the Etrog is “pri etz hadar” or \"the fruit of a beautiful tree\" (Lev. 23:40).
