Please be advised this is a quilt TOP: it is NOT a finished quilt or bedspread, as there is no batting or backing beneath the pieced fabrics shown in the photos.
It measures approximately 81\" by 74\" across. The bed is a queen, 80\" by 60\".
The makers used shirting cotton scraps and other cotton, printed fabrics, but none of them came from feed sacks. The setting was done by hand, everywhere: this is a completely hand made quilt top. On photo # 12, of the underside, you can see the stitching compared to a ruler.
Although there is just a handful of \"physical\" flaws, please notice there are some \"technical\" ones: some of the 9-patch blocks were set in such a fashion that 3 of the squares are smaller than the rest in the same block: you can see that on pic # 7, for example.
Also, in some blocks the central square is larger than others: check photo # 6 and look at the center square of the block on the right side of the photo. Those are not major problems, but we feel obligated to call your attention to them, as they might affect the way you look at this otherwise striking piece.
