Vintage Anri Italy Wood Modernist Chess Set Arthur Elliott Universum Space Age
- Presenting a fantastic Mid Century Modern \"Universum Space Age\" Complete & Deluxe Chess Set that has been carved out of wood in a Futurist style.
- Designed by Arthur Elliott (an American Artist who had worked for Disney) and Handcrafted by Anri in Italy. The Futuristic Set is presented in a Custom Made Fitted Wood Presentation Box.
- Bottom Tray is built into the bottom of the box with a custom created spot for every piece and the Second Tray sits on top of the first set with a custom created spot for every piece and lifts out.
- Found one \"Anri, Italy\" Label - see photos #11 & #12.
- All chess pieces have felt bottoms as well as the top wood tray and the storage box.
- The Lighter Chess Pieces are made out of Alpine White Maple and the Darker Set is made out of Kiln Dried Black Walnut
- The King measures 4\" tall and the Pawns measure 1 7/8\" tall.
- Presentation Box measures 11\" x 7 1/2\" x 3 1/2\".
- Board is not included - it was sold separately when the set was made.
- Box is in good vintage condition with some use marks/scratches and could use a polish. Inside there is some glue residue near the hinge and on the back of the upper tray - see photo #9. Latch shows just a little bit of age - see photo #7.
- The pieces appear to be in very good vintage condition - some light use/played with marks/scratches (usual play wear & age) but overall they look very good.
