Grappe de raisins, en jade celadon, chinois ... Chinese celadon green jade leaf beaded grape beads

I have collected these for over 30 years, now selling my person collection, I am guessing some of you are sceptical about them being real Jade, well last photo shows an original box I still have and on it reads \"Genuine Jade Grape Clusters\" \"Natural and Precious Perfectly compact not like imitation glass, plastic or Soapstone\". Some I purchased were Chinese purchased in Hong Kong, some were Burmese..now Myanmar.

This is a gorgeous Jade Stone Grape Cluster Arrangement with celadon green grapes that are set on a twisting vine, abundant with leaves & twisting tendrils. It was handcrafted in China or Burma mid century. This display of  succulent grapes represent the ancient Chinese Feng Shui Symbol for,  \"Insuring Future Success\",  In Business or Personal Goals. According to the Legend, displaying a bunch of grapes in your home, office or workplace will insure that your future endeavors are successful.

The New York Times had an intriguing story on the skyrocketing price of jade in China. According to the article, the demand for jade among China’s newly rich  “appears to have reached a frenzy in the past year or two.”  The price of the finest jade has increased tenfold over the past decade, to $3000 an ounce, (28 grams to the ounce) making it far more valuable than gold.

These Jade grapes are hand carved complete with hand carved leaves, has a total of 18 grapes. They come in Excellent Vintage condition dating around 1960 or mid century, and don\'t they just look spectacular as a group table centrepiece.

Last 3 photo\'s show how much these go for now.

Weighs just over 500 Grams or 27 Ounce\'s

Bunch measures 23 cm x 18 cm at the widest points.

The History of Chinese Export Jewellery and Wares

.During the Art Deco Period jewellers often made jewellery upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.

.Chinese Export jewellery became popular during the late Victorian Period and lasted until the 1960\'s. In a lot of ways Chinese Export jewellery fashioned what we know of jewelry today. During these periods, Chinese Craftsmen, including Jewellers and Stone cutters, were considered by far the best in the world.

.The rich and wealthy would have a piece custom ordered through their local jeweller whom was usually gifted at drawing a design to send off to contacts in China to craft and send back. As you can imagine, this was not cheap, that being said, these pieces are very rare and few have survived until today.

.Chinese Stone cutters were considered some of the finest artisans in the world during the Vintage Era. They would carve western themes as well as the more rare traditional Eastern themes into their many pieces.

.During the Art Nouveau Period a style in jewellery became popular, this style was called (Spray Jewellery). Spray jewelry often includes precious stones and gold metal or wire work spread out in different directions to highlight the wearer and catch eyes from across a room.

.It was in China—where the gem-carving tradition was already thousands of years old—In China in the late 1700\'s, and late eighteenth and early nineteenth century carvers created masterpieces that are still unsurpassed in concept, design, and technical execution.
