Vintage Appian Way pizza pie mix tin is completely usable as a pizza pan or as a decorative piece for your rustic farmhouse kitchen or bar . Appian Way mix, now owned by Armour, is still available. The history: GIs returning from Italy after WWII wanted pizza, little known then in the US. Recipes started showing up in cookbooks and in the early 1950s Frank Fiorello of Worcester MA created Appian Way, the first boxed mix for pizza pie. As it does today, the box had a mix for fresh yeast dough and a can of sauce. For many of us boomers it was our first intro to pizza (Dominos didn’t open till 58).

Condition: I have not tried to clean this up because some collectors like the rust and patina. If you want to use it, just scrub well and oil it, as you would an old cast iron skillet.
