This listing is for a vintage Detecto Series 6D scale. This is a great vintage piece that was designed for use in a general store or candy store to measure out bulk goods. The scale was made by Detecto in Brooklyn, NY in the 1940\'s most likely. The scale is made of a molded aluminum body with steel trays. The scale can measure up to 16 ounces and it has a balance weight on the side so you can set the amount you want to measure up to. There are two steel trays on top for placing the items you wish to weigh. The top of the scale has a round glass panel with the measuring needle and it says \"Detecto 6D Series\" on one side and \"Exact Weight\" on the reverse. There is a metal badge on the side of the piece that says Detecto Gram Detecto Scales Brooklyn, NY USA Serial S10791. There are also some numbers stamped on the aluminum frame itself that say 46078-7. This is a great vintage scale with a cool retro look. This would make a great display piece in any collection!

Condition: This piece is vintage and used with some wear. The scale is in good working condition and seems to be measuring accurately, but it may need some maintenance/repair/adjustments to get it working perfectly. The scale has some cosmetic wear including some scratches/chips/flakes in the paint finish, some pitting on the aluminum body, some pitting and oxidation on the steel parts, some discoloration and fading from age. There is yellowing and wear to the labels and there is the residue of a sticker that used to be on the piece. Please look closely at the photos for condition details and ask us any questions before offerding.
