The LaPorte Theater was open in 1923, in LaPorte, Indiana. This is one of 12 Stained Glass windows that was in the LaPorte Theater, when it opened in the 1920s. It seated 1,576 people or more. The stage in the theater was also used for vaudeville. It was a downtown showplace with its distinctive tower. The theater auditorium was reminiscent of the 1920,s. It opened in 1923, as one of the finest theaters in northern Indiana. The LaPorte Theater was designed by architect Henry Newhouse for a total cost of about $400,000. It was demolished in 1977, also one of the Stained Glass windows is in the LaPorte, museum & in a couple of the Banks, in LaPorte. The window is just beautiful, It has a wreath, bows & flowers in it, and in the center of the Stained Glass window it has an L in an oval, standing for LaPorte.
