Sterling Silver Sauce Boat with silver plate under Tray....

Hallmarked \" Sterling 403\" and some scratched initials, but no reference to who the manufacturer was. The boat weighs 7.9 oz as shown in photo 6. The bowl is 5 1/4\" L x 4 1/2\"W with a sterling base of 3 1/4\" D. The black handle, I believe is ebony, and it measures 5 1/2\"; the overall length including the handle and bowl is 10\". There is some porosity to the wood handle.

There are no dents on the bowl, but when polishing it, I noticed what appeared to be a very faint line all around the bowl that was probably due to being submerged in water at some time.....you really have to look closely to see it, but I mention it for full disclosure. Being sterling, you may want to have it professionally buffed at your local jeweler.

The silverplate tray is monogramed in the center and shows silver loss on the bottom and center top . I\'ve included it in case you don\'t have a sterling tray that you could use....

Condition: See above description for all disclosures; comes stored in a plastic bag which I have found to save lots of \"elbow grease\" since it inhibits tarnishing--leave it stored in the bag and then a quick wash with silver cream does the job just before using.
