Delightful Vintage Tin Lunch Box or Pail – Children Playing at Beach and at Park

The artwork on this vintage tin lunchbox could not be more charming. Against cherry red trim, we see panels showing children at the beach, in a wading pool, flying a kite, on a swing set, going down a slide, in a sandbox, etc. The tin was made by the Metal Package Corp, and likely dates to the 1920s or 1930s.

The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear, some small scratches and scuffs, some handling marks and normal vintage soiling, some minor dents and dings, etc. There is noticeable wear on the tin, especially on the base, where two sides in particular have some spotted rust patina. Noticeable scratch on one end, white spot on back side, etc. A few small rust spots on lid. There is a patch of rust on the inside and around the crevice. Bottom is dark with patina and has some small rust spots, too. Hinge is well attached and moves pretty freely, but is slightly stiff at the closure point. Handles are well attached and move freely. Open/close requires a little coaxing.

Again, condition issues of note:

· Noticeable wear, especially on base.

· Two sides of base especially have spotted rust patina.

· Noticeable scratch on one end, white mark on back side.

· Few small rust spots on lid and on bottom.

· Patch of rust inside.

· Hinge slightly stiff at closure; open/close needs a little coaxing.

Approximate size of tin is about 7.25” by 4.75”, by about 4” tall, excluding handles.

The tin is empty.
