For purchase is a beautiful vintage/antique Austrian silver and enamel powder compact. I think it dates from the 1900s maybe 1920s.

The colour is a very pretty pale yellow and the enamel is still lovely and glossy. The centre has an etched silver medallion of an urn of flowers.

Inside is a framed mirror and powder well with sifter. The powder well is stamped Made in Austria Sterling Silver 7980 with the Austrian hallmark stamp. The enamel is in excellent condition generally, hardly any surface scratches.

The only faults are the mirror has some mistiness and a brown patch where the silver has come off the back of the mirror plate and a small loss of enamel on the small section of enamel above the hinge. The sifter could do with a clean. Hinge good and shuts nicely.
