Offered is a South Carolina Low Country Sweet Grass Basket, hand woven by Mary Scott and family. We purchased it directly from the maker at her stand on Highway 17 north of Charleston, SC, in the 1970’s. It is made of sweetgrass, rush, palmetto fronds, and pine needles. It is in excellent condition having been used only for display. Please check the photos carefully.
This is a large winnow basket, with handles. A label which long ago detached will be included (see photo). We will also include a xerox of a brochure on these S.C. Low Country baskets.
The basket comes from a smoke and pet-free home.
