For offers tonight is anotherpair of the incomparable B&L 1/10 12K GFRAY-BAN Aviator Shooters. The iconic sunglass that would define an entire age.This time with G-15 neutral gray lensesthat blocks 85% of visible light and all UV light. The centerframe ring element is 10mm in diameter which produces a 8mm bridge gap. This offers the most protection from flying particles when shooting firearms and especially shootingautomatic firearms. Such a small bridge brings the lenses very close together protecting the eyes from burning powder fragmentsand metallic particles. In the 1930\'s through to the 1960\'s, the 8mm ring was the standard and the 10mm ring the exception. From the 1970\'s to the 1990\'s, exactly the opposite would be true such that the 8mm ring version of the Shooter virtually disappeared from B&L Ray Ban\'s inventory.

The62mm lenses on theseShootershave neither the B&L logo etch northewhiteRay Ban script logo due to the fact they were made in the 1940\'swell before these anticounterfeiting measures were introduced on standard lenses. The top of the crossbar is stamped \"RAY-BAN B&L 1/10 12K GF.\" Each temple is also marked \"B&L 1/10 12K GF\"in a circular pattern around each screw hole (you have to take the temples off to see this).The back side of both nose pads also have therecessed B&L logo. The \"GF\" marking does in fact mean \"Gold Filled,\" but this is something of a misnomer since the gold is on the outside of the frame rather than in the core. And if you strip away the lenses, theplastic partsand the screws, you have a frame that is 5% pure gold by weight which is substantial, but hardly \"gold filled.\"

The frames on these Shootershave the look of newness about them with only oneconcern. Although the brow bar looks perfect from the front with no darkening orage damage, thereverse side has a lengthwisehairline crack. And that\'s it.Because the frames look so good, I have to conclude that this crack was the result of something done at the factory like the plastic cooled too quickly.Otherwise the frames look mint.The screw heads are excellent and the cable ends have no loss of plating.The lenses are pretty close to mint with only the very lightest and faintest of scratches. There are no nicks, pits, chips or scuffs on either lens. The glasses do come with their original genuine leather case. The case is in excellent condition except for the snap which has all the paint worn off it.
