About the Collector

This piece was originally in the collection of a lifetime cat art aficionado and dedicated collector. It’s our privilege, on behalf of her family, to be selling a few select pieces from the collection. Spanning more than 60 years, this woman’s collection of cat pieces was varied and extensive, featuring artistic and unusual pieces from all over the world in a variety of beautiful styles. After her passing, as were her wishes, numerous pieces from her collection have been accepted by museum curatorial staff and will be displayed at the U.S. Cat Fanciers Museum in Ohio.

Beswick Poorly Peter Rabbit was modeled by David Lyttleton and was first issued in 1976. It comes under the BP3b, BP3c or BP4 back-stamp. This figurine displays a Brown-red and white blanket although later models have a lighter brown blanket.
