Vintage Bauer Vase, 1940s Large Urn, Olive Jar, Deco California, Fred Johnson For Sale
This is an rare 16" Bauer cobalt blue urn or Olive jar in excellent condition for its age. The piece has a deep rich glaze that certainly is difficult to photo as of the high reflection. The Jar is stoneware and unmarked and came form the same home my ultra rare Hall Donut cobalt Tea Pot came out of. (see my completed items) The jar has not chips cracks or repairs. There is some minor rubs and one very fine scratch in the glaze as well as the normal few sand grain sized pits from the manufacturing process. There is a seem in the middle also hard to photo best seen in pic 5. This is probably a Fred Johnson piece as this color was used in 40's which is where I would date this piece. I am not a Bauer expert but did show it to several dealers who agreed it was an authentic piece. I will pack this extra safe and a signature delivery and insurance will be required on this one included in the shipping cost. Local pick up and pre inspection is available in the San Jose CA area. The flaws are very minor and this is near mint. The inside is dirty but finished as well. The inside seem does not have the big ridge that some of these have.
