Vintage SCHUMANN BAVARIA GERMANY rare blue scroll panel and dresden floral pattern bread basket with gold trim. This beautiful, circa 1946-1949 porcelain china piece has an oval, scalloped shape with two handles on the ends. It features multicolor dresden pattern floral embellishments, decorative blue panels in the \'corners\', yellow/orange scrolls around the rim and panels, as well as a delicate gold scroll around the center of the piece. See photos for blowups of the floral pattern and blue panel design. The piece measures approximately 10.25 inches long by 7 inches wideThe piece is back marked with the \"Lion\" stamp in gold - Bavaria Schumann Germany US ZONE. My research has found the US Zone mark was used when the US occupied Bavaria Germany just after WWII. The \"Lion\" is the City of Arzberg Coat of Arms. Also on the back of the piece the numbers 895/4 are imprinted, perhaps the model number? I do not see any chips, cracks, repairs or crazing. The glaze is consistent, smooth and shiny. Beautiful, sturdy piece to add to your Schumann Bavaria collection! Items are from my mother or grandmother\'s estate and are in as-is vintage / antique estate or pre-ownedcondition unless stated otherwise.
