Vintage Benihana of Tokyo Daruma Buddha tiki mug in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

Benihana stamp on back, and Japan and some symbol impression on the bottom.

Mug is 6\" tall x 4 1/2\" across middle.

Aninteresting explanation about Daruma mugs: Depiction of Bodhidharma, a 5th century Buddhist monk, father of Zen Buddhism in China and Japan who, it is said, meditated in a seated position non-stop for 9 years and as a consequence his arms, legs and eyelids atrophied and fell off! He is now pictured as a wide-eyed disembodied head and are very popular in Japan.
